A sentence intended to reassure, but which somehow has the opposite effect.

Part of my One Way to Put It collection, this original abstract painting places those carefully reassuring words over a fluid, shifting surface of colour and pattern.

It’s the kind of phrase that can immediately make us wonder what might happen at the next stage. Removed from its context, reassurance and uncertainty sit rather uncomfortably together.

The series explores what happens when ordinary things we say, write and think are isolated and given space to mean something else.
